Château D'Yquem
1935
This year was cold and humid to a great extent, except for a period of warm, dry weather in early July. 90 mm of rain fell in late August and so botrytis began to work its magic. Pickers needed to be very obstinate in order to harvest between showers in what turned out to be a complicated and unpredictable weather pattern. The end result is a wine with a great deal of finesse in which noble rot comes through in ways other than just sweetness.
