Château D'Yquem
1946
A particularly chilly year beginning of the year was followed by a very dry summer. This meant that the harvest started late, about the 9th of October. Picking really only began in earnest in early November, interrupted by scattered showers that lowered sugar levels. The harvest was over by the 19th of November. This is thus a "November Yquem", with an extremely low yield that required careful sorting and selecting of barrels for the final blend.
