Château D'Yquem

A great start to the growing season, what was somewhat compromised later in the spring. Summer and autumn were very hot and dry, and this ended up being a late-ripening year. The harvest started in early October, but both volume and ripeness were largely missing. The weather was more encouraging on 15/10 so picking started up again and went on for a full month. The grapes were very rich. Generous in terms of quantity, 1962 was also wonderful in terms of quality.
