Château D'Yquem
1964
The growing season started out under the best auspices, and fine weather prevailed from April to September. Then, sadly, three terrible weeks of unrelenting rain (255 mm) arrived – five times more precipitation than usual! Ripening was unsatisfactory thereafter, despite the fine weather, and the sweetness was washed out by the rain. In short, autumn weather this year negated what had been a very promising year.
