Château D'Yquem

Spring was warm and wet, but this was followed by chilly weather. 60 mm of precipitation in September was well spread-out and engendered noble rot. 1914 was an early-ripening year and the harvest began on the 23rd of September. The fact that there was no rain for 22 days made picking easy. This was done in three passes that accounted for beautiful grapes. Unfortunately, however, rain came back with a vengeance and seriously damaged the second part of the harvest. Two thirds of the crop were nevertheless up to Yquem's standards.
