Château D'Yquem

The month of May was quite cool, whereas summer was hot and especially dry. The 25 mm of rain that fell on the 26th of September were not enough to trigger botrytis. However, showers from the 11th to the 20th of October did finally give rise to noble rot and picking began on the 24th of that month: the latest recorded date in Yquem's history. This was followed by 2 dry spells that unfortunately did not concentrate the grapes. Two subsequent ones did not succeed either in this curious year. An average year.
