Château D'Yquem
1976
A vintage marked by a lack of rain in spring and a warm summer. Showers on the 15th of September induced widespread botrytis and the harvest went on for 22 days non-stop. A second rainy period gave rise to another attack of noble rot, and a new pass took place, which finished just before heavy rain fell on the 13th of October. This set a record at the time because almost all the grapes were picked in just two passes.
