Château D'Yquem
1924
A beautiful warm, dry year. There were two rainy periods: late September (32 mm) and early October (23 mm) which brought on botrytis. Two weeks of fine weather thereafter made it possible to pick grapes in prime condition. A new series of showers in late October (30 mm) contributed to spreading botrytis even further. In light of the weather that year, this vintage deserved to be more successful than it is. Unfortunately sugar levels simply did not rise enough.
