Château D'Yquem
1901
Spring and summer were very warm. Then the weather turned quasi-tropical accompanied by heavy rain and even hail that had an adverse effect on the grapes. A large number of grapes were picked from the 13th to the 20th of September, and sugar levels were good. On the 21st of that month, 40 mm of rain upset the harvest, which took up again for 13 days in a row, providing grapes with excellent potential alcohol. A beautifully rich vintage.
