Spring was chilly, but without frost. Weather was poor during flowering and there was some hail. This was an altogether rainy year, except in August and September. 30 mm of rain botrytised the whole crop in early October. However, the cold temperatures did not allow for concentration despite a few brief spells of dry weather. 1902 was a mediocre vintage.
