Château D'Yquem
1920
The growing season started out with higher-than-average temperatures, but these dropped dramatically in July, accompanied by increased humidity. The early harvest, starting on the 18th to the 24th of September, seemed very promising, but then 75 mm of rain fell at the end of the month. Picking went on from the 2nd to the 6th of October, but sugar levels were too low. A final try was made from the 12th to the 17th of that month, but the degrees were still too low. The 1920 crop was average, and only one fifth was acceptable by Yquem's standards.
