Château D'Yquem
1982
A hot, dry year, but not excessively so. The first pass, from the 16th to the 25th of September, yielded fine grapes. This was unfortunately followed by 5 weeks of heavy rain and picking could only begin again on the 25th of October. However, grapes from the last passes were not up to scratch. Concentrating finesse, acidity, and balance, this is a connoisseur's vintage made from a single pass. A great success, but with very small production.
