Château D'Yquem
1943
Spring was warm and dry, but colder weather set in afterward and the weather was both chilly and rainy leading up to the harvest. 100 mm of rainfall in the latter half of September and a hail storm caused major damage. This was nevertheless followed by an explosion of botrytis that became even more concentrated after 2 weeks without rain. The harvest started in early October. A vintage marked by a preponderance of noble rot, and whose quality is due to the experience of the winemaking team.
