Château D'Yquem
1916
Chilly weather in March and June slowed down vegetative growth and caused some coulure. Summer was warm and hot with 4 brief rainy periods of just 10 mm, but enough to get botrytis going. Three weeks in October without rain were wonderful for concentration. Picking from the 4th to the 19th of October brought in very fine grapes, but rain the last two weeks of October unfortunately ruined the remaining fruit.
